Hi, Kiva.org would have to be the most incredible social organisations I have ever come across. Its aim is to alleviate poverty in developing nations and improve the standard of life – without collecting a cent in donations. Kiva understands donated money is an extremely short term solution, lending money to finance the growth of a small business in Uganda or Ghana has a multiplying affect. A $25 loan to finance the growth of a small shop, will return $100 to the owner and their family, a $25 donation is precisely that. zzzzz… social media strategy

Im beginning to get bored of the term social media strategy. Consulting in this arena means I need to use the buzz words that have been hammered into corporate psychies over the last 18 months. But I find it far too controlling and at disconnect. Strategy for me has both military and business connetations of strucutred and systematic ways to achieve or conquer an ultimate goal. The iPhone filter

I have blogged several times on social media overload and being too connected. So I’m culling. Networks are becoming redundant as others converge and heighten their general status as the social norm. So as this transition occurs, I can begin to leave (can you leave?) networks. Today subconsciously I found myself rearranging and deleting icons on my iPhone, the central point for my social media interactions. I have a page dedicated to social icons, which all seem to be blue or some variant of.
